The mansion at SouthillPark was built, from designs by Holland, by the late Mr. Whitbread,upon purchasing the estate, in the year 1795. The south front, as re-presented in our engraving, consists of a centre and two wings, eachsurmounted with a pediment: it has also a portico and a corridor of theIonic order. The basement story and the wings are rusticated. Theinterior is fitted up with much elegance, and its decorations are chasteand beautiful.
