Fishing boat pulled up on the pepple beach in the famous seaside holiday town of Aldeburgh on the Suffolk coast, England

The town gets its name from Alde and burgh meaning 'old fort'. Henry III gave the Tudor port borough status and in those days several famous vessels including Sir Francis Drake's Golden Hind were built by local shipbuilders. Today it's famous for the international Aldeburgh Festival of Arts at nearby Snape Maltings founded by Benjamin Britten in 1948.
