Symptoms.—After an incubation period of from three to ten days, head-ache, nausea, muscular soreness, a chill or chilliness, and nose-bleed, arefollowed by a rapidly rising fever and an accelerated pulse and rash appears from the third to the seventh day, first on the foreheadand extremities, later on the chest, abdomen, and back. It is macular, brightred, and becomes petechial in severe cases. It is profuse everywhere excepton the abdomen and desquamation may follow. The exanthem appearsfirst on the ankles, wrists and back, the abdomen being least affected. Later. -Rocky Mountainspotted fever.—Exanthem.(After J. F. Anderson).
