Gull eating gull tried to roll up the flat fish to swallow it and eventually did so. There are seven images to see.
I saw this gull picking up a flatfish by the harbour and got a little closer to photograph the action. I saw the fish was a ray maybe a thornback but the ray was too big and too wide to swallow. The gull kept trying and then rolled up the ray twice and on the second or third attempt the fish slowly got swallowed with the tail still showing!
