Be the day ever so breathless, these ethereal hair-fringed bells never cease to swing as if stirred by invisible ; We do not recommend Calochortus for outdoorplanting except in the far South and Pacific coast; but for Winter blooming in the house or conservatory they are very valuable, and the bulbs are sure to bloom profusely and give great pleasure, as they are so novel and beautiful. The foliage is graceful, the nu/nerous flower stems are terminated with clusters of bell- shaped, drooping flowers, which are wonderfully gay and beautiful. Our illustration does not do them justice by any means. The bulbs are very easily grown and we would recommend that four to six be placed in a six-inch pot or box of suitable size and treated the same way as Hyacinths in pots. None may fear failure as they require so little care. We trust every order will at least include some of these exceedingly beautiful flowers.
