EYE, DRAWING
The organ of vision, the eye is composed of three tunics. The outer tunic is a tough white membrane termed the sclera which is continuous anteriorly with a transparent refractory structure, the cornea. The second tunic is the uvea formed posteriorly by the choroid and anteriorly by the iris and the pupil. The third tunic is the retina. Light entering the eye passes through the cornea, the aqueous humor, the lens and the vitreous to form an image on the retina. The retina is composed of photoreceptor cells which transform the light input into a nervous impulse transmitted by the optic nerve to the brain
