Marines with Regimental Surveillance and Target Acquisition Company (RSTAC), 1st Marine Division, use .50 caliber ammunition to fire the .50 caliber sniper rifle during RSTAC live fire training at Fort Irwin, Calif., Oct. 2, 2017. RSTAC is an experimental company designed to build proficiency in scout sniper operations for service level exercises culminating in live fire full-mission profiles, reporting surveillance and reconnaissance control center operations and high-angle precision fires.
