Wallace Collection butterfly specimens. Drawer containing butterflies collected and mounted by the British naturalist Alfred Russel Wallace (1823-1913). This drawer is part of a collection that consists of more than 850 individual insects housed in 28 drawers. The insects were collected in South America and the Malay Archipelago. The collection forms part of the Wallace Collection, which was acquired from the Wallace family in 2002 by the Natural History Museum, London, UK.
