In a country sovaried, all kinds of land may be found, from the rich river bottom suchas that in the Fraser delta, through all the stages to the bare rock witha little sand and moss on the mountain heights. In the valleys of thesections where the rainfall is plentiful the land is rich and heavy, inother parts it requires irrigation from the mountain streams to make itproductive. The Dominion Government also owns land in British Columbia,which is available for settlers, on payment of a small price per acre andactual settlement.
