Cox, seventy-seven years old, whocompleted his fifty-third year of active railroadservice on April 30, has been promoted fromcity ticket seller to special passenger Cox, or 1Uncle Joe, as he is known torailroad men throughout this section of thecountry, entered the service of the Cincinnati,Hamilton and Dayton Railway Company onMay 1, 1864, in the Baggage Department.
