LGBT+ groups from LGBT+ Liberal Democrats and Out for Independence host a rally outside Queen Elizabeth House in Edinburgh against the blocking of the Gender Recognition Reform Bill by the UK Government. The Gender Recognition Reform Bill was passed by the Scottish Government in December 2022 and would make it easier for trans people to change their legally-recognised sex. The UK Government is blocking the legislation under a Section 35 order, arguing that the Scottish legislation would have a detrimental impact on equalities laws that currently apply in the rest of the UK.
