F. E. B. BED-SPREADS. White coverings that can be kept cleanand fresh by laundrying are no longer suffi-cient for people with luxuriou? tastes. Ahandsome bed-spread is made of creamywhite satin sheeting, with a bold design prominent by darningthe rest of the groundin garnet filoselle, whichis the tint used in thedecoration. Anotherspread wrought in thesame way, is of ecrusateen in lighter garnetshades, the tints runninginto pale pink. In thisone, in the centre of theflowers, which are onlyconventionally outlined,a sort of herring-boneis introduced for variety,and the seed vessels areimitated by the fine dia-mond-shaped couch-ings. A bed-spread ofpale-blue satin sheeting,has for design a largeopen scroll, evenly dis-tributed over the sur-face, and outlined inchain stitch. This stitchis made small, lies flat,and effectually concealsthe material.
