Marsh harrier (Circus aeruginosus) with a fish in its talons. Marsh harriers are birds of prey that are found in parts of Europe, the Middle-east, western Asia and northwest Africa. They catch their prey by hovering above it and then quickly diving down from above. They inhabit wetland areas preferring to roost in reedbeds and feeding on small mammals, birds, insects, reptiles, amphibians and fish. Photographed in Israel, in December.
