Protesters Demand Closure of School of the Americas

Columbus, Georgia - Catholic mass is celebrated on the eve of a rally to close the School of the Americas, where the United States military trains Latin American combat soldiers. Graduates of the School have been implicated in torture and murder in their home countries, including the murder of Catholic priests and nuns. Still popularly called the School of the Americas, the SOA has been officially renamed the Western Hemisphere Institute for Security Cooperation.
