A vintage black and white photograph taken on 15th November 1918 showing Lieutenant Roger Lewin Taverner of the Kings Shropshire Light Infantry, a regiment of the British Army. He was born on 28th March 1899 at Upton-On-Severn, Worcestershire. Died on 6th February 1976. He later went to be made a Captain and then a Brigadier Major in the KSLI. During World War II his aircraft was shot down and he was a Prisoner Of War until the end of the war. Photograph was taken at the famous London studios of Alexander Bassano.
