Yr Hen Gapel, Rhydowen Chapel Ceredigion, Wales Yr Hen Gapel is the mother church of the Unitarian “Black Spot” of Ceredigion and Carmarthenshire. Scene of a scandal in 1876 when the congregation and it's minister William Thomas (also known as Gwilym Marles - Great uncle to the poet Dylan Thomas) were evicted by the landlord due to their radical ideologies. After the eviction the minister addressed an outdoor congregation of some 3000.
