All localities with depths greater than 400 m. are situated south of the Antarctic Convergence; in sub-antarctic waters, on the other hand, the species has as yet only been met with at depths above 200 m. It must be mentioned here that no depth record exists concerning the two older localities, Cape Horn and Heard Island. A series of new localities has been added by the Discovery Expedition (see Fig. 12). Allowing for the difficulties attendant on taking Stylasterids in the catches because of their special ecological demands,.
