Normal vision. Artwork of a section through the human eye demonstrating the process of vision. Vision is the faculty of sight and involves both the eye and the brain. For the eye to see the flower at right, light rays from it are projected onto the light-sensitive retina (thin, yellow) at the back of the eye. An inverted image of the flower is projected (at left) which the brain automatically interprets the right way up. Focusing of the image onto the retina is mostly by the cornea (pale blue curved layer, centre right). The lens (oval, centre) is involved in fine-focusing (accommodation).
