Ayr, on the Clyde Coast, was and still is a popular sea side holiday resort. It was very popular resort during the 'Glasgow Fair' - the traditional fortnight holiday period. Although holidays have changed over the decades, Ayr is a busy place any time the sun comes out in Scotland.
