Variable star Eta Aquilae (centre). This Cepheid-type star varies in brightness between magnitudes and in a period of days. It is easily visible to the naked eye and its variability was discovered in 1784 by the English amateur astronomer Edward Pigott Credit Robin Scagell/Galaxy
