Approximately 16 Soldiers with the Topeka Recruit Sustainment Program were accompanied by Col. Roger Murdock, Kansas National Guard Chief of Staff, and cadre from the Kansas Army National Guard Recruiting and Retention Battalion, on a visit to the National Training Center at Fort Irwin, California, June 3, 2017. The purpose of the tour was to highlight the operational demand and training opportunities available with the Kansas National Guard. The visit coincided with the 2nd Combined Arms Battalion 137th Infantry Regiment; 1st Battalion, 161 Field Artillery Battalion and 772nd Mobility Augment
