Length, 5i inches ; wing, 3 ; tail, 2|; bill, \ ; tarsus, f. This very distinct species is confined to Tasmania, and is in the habit of frequenting the gardens of tke colonists in the fruitseasons, although its ordinary food is the same as that of the other members of this peculiarly Australian genus.
