Marines capture their final moments with family and friends prior to departing for deployment at Camp Lejeune, , Dec. 16, 2018. Approximately 2,500 Marines and Sailors will deploy to the 5th and 6th Fleet areas of responsibility with the Kearsarge Amphibious Ready Group. The MEU will serve as a sea-based, expeditionary crisis response force capable of conducting amphibious missions across the full range of military operations.
