Several were under conviction,and one man, lying on a heap of stones just by, was crying to God with all hismight. We soon had a blessed work in the place, and sixty souls joined in churchfellowship. The first chapel at Preston was built in 1822, at a cost of £200, and was capable ofseating 174 persons. For several years Preston, Burstwick, and Rimswell Chapels werea source of great anxiety, especially so as they were not originally Connexional chapels,but private property.
