The limestone peaks including the dominant 1,781m high Pizzo d'Uccello in the Apuan Alps, a mountain range near the small village of Mezzana - Monte de' Bianchi in the steep wooded valleys of the Serchio and Magra rivers in the Tuscany region of northern Italy. The Apuan Alps is in an area of the Apuan Alps Park, part of the UNESCO Global Geoparks Network, Appennino Tosco-Emiliano National Park, UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and the Tuscany UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.
