RUISDAEL (Jacob)(1628-1682) 41. — A Cascade In the fore-ground, the water falls in white, foamy masses overthe rocks. Above the fall is a dam, from which an immense blockis detached on the left, and several smaller ones on the right. Onthe bank of the weir, in the middle distance, whose water is assmooth ao a mirror, we see a villa, surrounded by trees. A clumpof trees on the right, beneath the largest of which are two men.
