GULF OF ADEN (Oct. 8, 2009) USS Anzio (CG 68) deploys its Visit Board Search and Seizure (VBSS) team to conduct boarding operations on suspected pirate vessels in the Gulf of Aden. Anzio is the flagship of Combined Joint Task Force 151, a multinational task force established to conduct counter-piracy operations under a mission-based mandate to actively deter, disrupt, and supress piracy off the coast of Somalia.
