These sea stars are usually found on sandy sea floor, buried during the day. They come out at dawn to prey on smaller mollusks. This one was foudn in Mgarr Ix-Xini, Malta. Mgarr IX-Xini is a marine protected area in south western Gozo, the second largestof the Maltese Islands.
