Teacher at the Udayan School
Udayan officially opened it’s new school in July 2011. With an overall capacity for 200 children the school provides classroom facilities for all of the children at Udayan as well as children from poor families in the surrounding village communities. Udayan is Vatsalya's Residential Care Program for Orphaned & abandoned children in Rajasthan, India. Vatsalya's primary goal is empowerment of those who need it and who seek it. Vatsalya is an Indian based NGO whose mission is to help restore lost childhoods and improve the quality of life of vulnerable members in the population through direct services, advocacy and the networking of thoughts and actions. One of the organization’s main programs is Udayan, a unique Children’s Village on the outskirts of Jaipur where approximately 60 orphaned, abandoned and destitute children live under the care of Vatsalya’s staff. At present, Vatsalya also has significant interventions in the fields of Health & HIV-AIDS and Women’s Empowerment.
