Indian paradise flycatcher in diving mode

Sinhagad valley of Pune boasts of being a host to several not so common species of birds making it a perfect place for bird watching. Indian paradise flycatchers are star attraction at the beautiful Sinhagad valley. One fine winter morning as I was waiting to get a glimpse of this majestic bird, a male paradise flycatcher appeared with fairy-like movements with streamers trailing behind as he chases insects. After about half an hour of flits in graceful undulating flight from one tree to another he finally drops a clear view. His entry is marked by a sudden visit to one of the open perches above the stream. Before the blink of an eye he makes a plunge-dive into the stream and quickly returns to perches hidden amongst the bushes. This graceful action is repeated twice or thrice before he finally disappear into the woods. This image captures one such enthralling diving moment of the fellow near Sinhagad valley.
