ISS Columbus training module. This training module is located at the European Astronaut Centre (EAC), in Cologne, Germany. It is used for ESA astronauts to train for missions to the International Space Station (ISS). The Columbus module is the European Space Agency's science laboratory on the ISS. It is 7 metres in length, and was installed in 2008. Experiment racks (International Standard Payload Racks, ISPRs) are installed on the walls of the module, and operated by the astronaut crew, who train here before missions to the ISS. Examples of ISPRs include the Fluid Science Laboratory, Biolab, and European Physiology Modules.
