A January 1901 press image showing the crew of a French fishing boat Carro, involved in the recue of those on board the Russie , a French mail steamer which hit rocks the Island of Faraman 60 miles from Marseilles when sailing from Oran in Algeria. Rescue was delayed for five days because of atrocious weather but all aboard were saved.
