Nowhere couldthe tourist find so many natural freaks and so much beautywithin the few days required to make the circuit of thepark. The expense is such, too, that the traveler of mostmodest means can easily afford the trip The Geyseis Perhaps the most famous attraction of the park is foundin the geysers, which are grouped in three general Horticultural ITall Old Faithful, which every seventy minutes shoots twohundred and fifty gallons of scalding water ahundred and fifty feet in the air, continuing for three min-utes, is the most noted of these. Among other spectaculargeysers are the Fountain, the Giant, the Lone Star, the Con-stant and the Minute Man, and there are hundreds of Cliff, a natural cliff of volcanic glass, from whichthe Indians to make arrowheads, is a remarkable andinteresting sight. Yellowstone Lake is a great sheet of clearwater hemmed in by irregular rugged hills, affording picturesof rare beauty. At Mammoth Hot Springs, the headquarters of the cavalrywhich patrols and protects the park from forest fires andvandalism, the exquisitely colored formation known asPulpit-Terrace, and Liberty Cap excites great interest.
