The navigator on an Avro Lancaster B Mark III from No. 619 Squadron RAF seated at his table in the aircraft. The "Lancs" first saw service with RAF Bomber Command in 1942 and as the strategic bombing offensive over Europe gathered momentum, it became the main aircraft for the night-time bombing campaigns that followed.
