The reinforced concrete construction substitutes for the steelroof beams, steel rods, approximating Ij4 ins. square, laid invarying distances according to the different roof loads, from6 ins. to 10 ins. apart. Rods ins. in diameter tie the sidewalls, passing through angle columns in the walls and thebulb-angle columns in the center. Layers of concrete are laidover the roof rods to a thickness of from 18 ins. to 30 ins., andcarried 2 ins. below the rods, thus imbedding them.
