Shepherd s House, Dod Law, near Doddington, Northumberland


The so called shepherd's house is referred to by Tomlinson in 1888 as a gamekeeper s cottage. Dod Law is over 198m or 650 feet high It is crowned with an Iron Age hill fort and has several examples of sandstone outcrops with cup and ring marks, enigmatic rock art motifs which are thought to have been made in the late Neolithic or early Bronze Ages.
