The north shore, when one has passed out of Rockland Harbor, showsunmistakable signs of a stimulant growth. The new resort at Bay Pointis especially noticeable. One falls over head and ears in love with thesevelvety undulations of smooth shore land, after seeing the long leagues ofunsightly ledges that tear their way through the thin crust of soiL Hereall is sunny and green quite down to the waters edge. Trees grow, flowersbloom, and gardens and groves proclaim a more genial climate; nor are weinsensible to the change from the rasping breezes of the open sea to the softerand more gentle winds that come off the land.
