Grove House, Oxford, UK, Nov 2006: gold gilt ornate carved metal curtain tieback hook and pink and white floral patterned drapes

Grove House was owned by Vivien Greene, wife of the novelist Graham Greene, from 1949 until her death in 2003 at the age of 99. Other well known people associated with Grove House include John Henry Cardinal Newman 1801 - 1890 and Charles Lutwidge Dodgson 1832 - 1898 (Lewis Caroll). By 2006 the house was in need of major renovations. These images capture the house as it was just prior to those renovations, and show the gorgeous colourful fabulously patterned decor of the art deco age.
