Although there have been no killing frosts up to the present, outdoor flowers are scarce and dahlias are the only appreciable outdoor flower on the market. Asters are hardly to be reckoned with. Green- house stock is much improved. Roses are fifty per cent better in quality and command good prices. Ophelia, Russell and Shawyer are the leaders. Chrys- anthemums are fast increasing in sup- ply and the demand is exceedingly good. Pink October Frost is the lead- ing variety, being the largest on the market at present. Carnations are in- creasing in supply and are in demand for funeral work especially. Lilies are meeting with a good call for decora- tive work. Various Notes. David Vesey is building a handsome new residence on Forest Park boule- vard. Mrs. Charles D. Bradley, of the Bradley Flower Shop, is spending a week in Chicago as the guest of rela^ tives. The Flick Floral Co. has been busy with decorations for the department store of Wolf & Dessauer and the Gates Cloak House. Many chrysanthe- mums and roses were used. The decora- tions for the new Morris Bank were also done by Miss Flick. R. F. SEDALIA, MO. The state fair flower show was the greatest in the history of Missouri. The attendance was good.
