On the 4th of January1642, John Baillie was returned heir of the lands of Thanker-ton, lately St Johns Kirk, with the teinds and pasturage inthe Common of Thankerton, the lands of Lockharthill and aportion of Anneston commonly called Schawcruick, in thebarony of Symington, and the lands and meadow called An-netscheill, with pasture in the Common of this respected family sprung the Baillies of Walstonand Jerviswood.
