Liopleurodon marine reptile, artwork. This extinct reptile lived 160-155 million years ago and belonged to the pliosaur group of carnivorous marine reptiles. It measured around ten metres in length. With a large powerful jaw and strong paddles for limbs, it was a fast swimmer and a voracious hunter.
