Everything First-Claaa Uth and H Streets LYNCHBURG, VIRGINIA Auto and Express Service to all Points in Virginia Miss McCarron Member of Florists' Telegraph Delivery ST. LOUIS. The Market. The market was in good condition last week. There was i)leuty of stock of evcrytliiiig seasonable, with prices qnite low. Business is reported good witli tlie retailers since the holidays. Tlie stores are using up considerable stock of all kinds, but not enough to clear the big receipts. The local-grown stock has the call and holds up much better than shippcd-in consignments. There is a large cut of carnations, with prices ranging from $1 to $2 for the best stock. Enchantress seems to take the lead over any other variety. Violets are coming in finely, the clear, cold days having brouglit on a larger crop since the holidays. They make 50 cents per hundred for the best. Roses are arriving in substantial quantities, especially the Killarney varieties, but meet with a slow sale. Beauties, Opludia, Sunburst and Russell soil best, at reasonaVtle prices in all grades. Paper Whites continue a glut at pres- ent and are ilown to $2 jier hundred. Orchids are in large demand, with a bottom jirice of $G per dozen for cat- tleyas. Valley is having a good call, but it has been scarce in this market since the holidays. Callas and Easter lilies are not numerous at present. Sweet peas are coming in nicely and the fancy varieties are in big demand—$'jO per liundred for the choice. All greens sell well, especially asparagus. Various Notes. The oflicers of tlie Florists' Club met last week and set the meeting for this week, January 11, at the store of the 8t. Louis Seed (^o., on Washington ave- nue, which extended the invitation. 1'resident Bourdet received many con- gratulations on his appointment as state vice-]iresident of tlie S. A. F. for east- ern ^lissouri. The Retail Florists' Association will hold its first meeting of the new year January 15,
