A cobbled street leading to several streets of back to back terraced houses in the Victorian model village of Saltaire Yorkshire

These back to back terraced houses are part of the Victorian model village built in Saltaire in 1851 by Sir Titus Salt. They were built to accommodate the employees who worked in the large textile mill he built by the Leeds and Liverpool canal and the railway. Saltaire is named after Sir Titus Salt and the river Aire which runs through the village.
