Trimethoprim antibiotic drug. Packet of fourteen 200 mg tablets of the antibiotic drug trimethoprim. This drug is an antibiotic that is classed as a dihydrofolate reductase inhibitor. It is used mainly to treat urinary tract infections. It was patented in 1962 by the US pharmaceutical company Burroughs Wellcome, and later marketed under various names by successor companies that included GlaxoSmithKline. This is a generic form of the drug, produced by the British pharmaceutical company Crescent Pharma.
