The Auto and Technik Museum in Sinsheim Germany


The Concorde and the Tupolev supersonic passenger planes side by side at the Auto and Technik Museum in Sinsheim ,Germany. The Tupolev at right was considered by many to be a copy of the Concorde. but there were important design differences. There was Soviet industrial espionage on the Concorde's development especially in its braking system. Copies of each crashed in Paris -- the Tupolev 144 at an air show in 1973 and the Concorde in passenger service in 2000. The Concorde was the more commercially successful. flying until 2003 The Tupolev only saw limited service and was grounded after 1978.
