A “pregnant” male Sydney Dwarf Pipehorse (Idiotropiscis lumnitzeri) at Bare Island, Botany Bay, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Like many other members of the family Syngnathidae, the female Sydney Dwarf Pipehorse deposits its eggs in the male’s “pouch.” He then carries the young until well after they hatch.
