The growing of bulbs of Lilium llar- risii from seeds has advanced far enough on the Pacific coast so that a grower there is able to oft'er bulbs of commer- cial size and in commercial quantities for autumn delivery. The cool weather is prolonging the seed selling season to an unusual degree. The business has been steadier this season than usual, due, many think, to the fact that the weather has been colder than normal most of the time. W. Atlee Burpee & Co., Philadelphia, say the mail order season just closing was not only extrenlely satisfactory but the largest they ever have had, in spite of the handicaps of bad weather and shortage in many important lines.
