The Commandant of the Marine Corps, Gen. James F. Amos, presents members of the 9th Commando Kandak with an award at the Commando camp near Herat, Herat district, Herat province Dec. 26. The Commandant presented the Kandak with a commemorative Kabar fighting knife in memory of lives lost in battle. He also expressed his appreciation of the excellent work they are doing alongside Marines, sailors and soldiers defending their country from the activities of the insurgents.
