231007-M-VB101-1014 ARABIAN GULF (Oct. 7, 2023) Two CH-53E Super Stallions attached to Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron (VMM) 162 (Reinforced), 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (Special Operations Capable) (MEU(SOC)), prepare to launch from amphibious assault ship USS Bataan (LHD 5) in the Arabian Gulf, Oct. 7, 2023. The Bataan Amphibious Ready Group and 26th MEU(SOC) are deployed to the 5th Fleet area of operations to increase maritime security and stability in the Middle East region.
