It is one of the most considerable buildings constructed during the Italian occupation of the island. It is a combination of many different architectural styles and its arrangement strongly resembles the Palace of the Doges in Venice. It was built in 1927 by the Italian architect, Florestano di Fausto. It was used by the Italians Built in 1927, the Governor's Palace is one of the most beautiful and remarkable buildings in Rhodes. The palace once consisted of three buildings, but only two remain today. A medieval staircase leads up to the buildings, which feature arched walkways and decorative brickwork.
